The Verve, a British band from Wigam, England, released their debut album, A Storm in Heaven in 1993. It was followed by the acclaimed A Northern Soul in 1995.
In the summer of 1997, The Verve released Urban Hymns reaching worldwide success with the album, which included the hit singles "Bittersweet Symphony," "The Drugs Don't Work" and "Lucky Man."
News of the band's split was announced in 1999, and in June 2007, the band announced a November reunion and played a six-date U.K. tour. New music and a new tour followed in 2008, including two nights at the WaMu Theater at Madison Square Garden, April 28-29.
